2015/02/img_1017.jpgThe world lost Carole Ann Underwood, 72, a kind soul and loyal Wal-Mart customer Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, after a battle with many illnesses and a few indulgences, including an affinity for fried food, QVC shopping and Aqua Net hair spray. Graveside service: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood.

Carole Ann was a collector of many things, a masterful riding lawn mower operator and a loving matriarch. She always dressed in her Sunday best with full bedazzled regalia, whether she was headed out on the town or simply mowing the lawn. We know she has found peace and is safe in the Lord’s arms in heaven. In short order, she’ll be dancing with our Daddy as they did in our kitchen growing up. She will be missed as a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. We encourage anyone attending her memorial service to not wear black or act somber. MeeMee had a big personality and would prefer you show up with loud jewelry, abundant perfume and plenty of hair spray ready to love one another, cut up and have a good time.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jim Underwood; and a daughter, Debby Lynn Gross. Survivors: Daughters, Toni Lewis and husband, David, Lisa Sparkman and husband, Greg, Becky Sisk and husband, Cowboy, and Shelly Crudup and husband, Boyd; grandchildren, Brandon Lewis and wife, Robyn, Garrett Sparkman and wife, Ashley, Kaci Jo Flannery and husband, Robert, Ashley Holbert and husband, Rowdy, Cody and Blake Sisk; and great-grandchildren, Colter Sparkman, Ella Sparkman, Rees Flannery, Noelle Lewis and Kaysen Ashley Holbert.
