Jack “Trapper Jack” Davis, age 88, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008. He was a long-term contractor serving Blount County with Blount Plumbing and Heating Co. from the late ’40s. After retirement, he and his wife Juanita developed Saddleridge, a 1,500 acre mountain property in Walland, TN.

He was a WWII veteran serving in Alaska and Japan. He traveled back to Alaska many times for fishing, he caught the World Record Halibut, weighing over 400 pounds.

Preceded in death by, parents, Earl and Pearl Yearout Davis; brother, Toby Davis. Survivors include wife, Juanita Kirby Davis; daughters, Linda Davis, Becky Sledge; granddaughter, Ashley McNish; great-granddaughter, Kendra McNish; brothers, Sidney Davis of Maryville, Ralph Davis of Dandridge; sisters, Lucille Adair, formerly of Chattanooga, June Stanley of Kingston. There will be a private memorial service Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, Cedar Chapel, Rev. Davis McCammon officiating, who is affiliated with Calvary Baptist Church.
